U4GM Guide to Craft a +3 Werewolf Solar Amulet in PoE 2
If you are deep into Path of Exile 2 and pushing a Werewolf Druid, you quickly see that your amulet is not just another slot, it is the backbone of your whole setup, and that is where a Solar Amulet tied in with smart use of PoE 2 Currency really starts to matter.
Why The Solar Amulet Matters
You are not picking Solar because it looks cool, you pick it for that Spirit implicit, since the build dumps Spirit non stop and you do not want to chug potions forever. The big trick that saves you hours of pain is skipping the part where you try to roll the skill levels yourself. Instead, you want to buy or farm a Solar Amulet that already has a fractured +3 to Level of All Melee Skills. Once that fractured mod is locked in, you are free to shape the rest of the item without constantly worrying you are going to brick your damage. It feels a bit weird at first to "start" from a half finished rare, but in this game that is often the sane way to craft.
Setting Up The Prefix Core
With the fractured base sorted, your first real craft step is the prefixes. You are aiming for a clean mix of offense and defense, not a wall of random stats you will later regret. A Perfect Essence of Enhancement is the go to here, since it forces a strong Increased Global Defences roll, typically around that 20 to 30 percent mark. Before you hit the item with the essence, you want an Omen of Sinistral Crystallisation active. That omen makes sure the essence only wipes and rerolls prefixes, so you are not blowing up good suffixes you might already have. When this part goes right, you end up with fractured melee levels plus a solid defence prefix, and the amulet is already starting to look like something you would be happy to keep even if the rest rolls average.
Rolling Energy Shield At The Well Of Souls
The next step is the scary bit for a lot of players, using the Well of Souls to chase Energy Shield. The well can spit out all sorts of nonsense, so you stack the odds before you jump in. You pop an Omen of Sinistral Necromancy so Desecration only adds prefixes, which keeps the pool focused. On top of that, you bring an Omen of Abyssal Echoes, basically a one time mulligan if the reveal shows something useless like flat mana or basic spell damage. What you really want to see is Tier 1 Increased Maximum Energy Shield. When that appears next to the fractured melee skill mod and the Global Defences roll, you suddenly have this tight three prefix package that covers damage and survivability without any fluff. At that point you are not thinking "maybe I keep this," you are already planning the rest of your gear around it.
Cleaning And Finishing The Suffixes
Once the prefixes are locked in, the suffixes decide whether the amulet feels smooth to play or constantly starved, and Werewolf Druid tends to eat mana pretty hard. You start by stacking quality with Neural Catalysts, then trigger an Omen of Catalysing Exaltation. Your next Exalted Orb will burn that quality and give you a matching suffix, which usually lands you a high tier Increased Mana Regeneration Rate and makes the build feel way less clunky. If you later hit a bad suffix, like a low tier attribute roll that does not really do anything, you do not have to junk the whole piece. An Omen of Whittling plus a Perfect Chaos Orb lets you surgically delete the lowest level modifier on the item, often that useless stat you hate looking at, while keeping your Tier 1 and fractured mods safe. Once you have cleared the junk, you can slam another Exalt for resistances or a needed stat, and if you have managed the steps well, you end up with a Solar Amulet that genuinely feels like a best in slot piece rather than something you just threw together with random poe2 currency buy in U4gm.
