The Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) is a highly purified, partially depolymerized cellulose derivative obtained from plant fibers, primarily wood pulp. It is widely used in pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, and industrial applications due to its multifunctional properties such as binding, stabilizing, bulking, and emulsifying.

In the pharmaceutical industry, MCC is one of the most common excipients used in tablet formulations.
